About The ComMuniCator

The ComMuniCator is a journal published four times a year, and is a nationally recognized forum for mathematics educators. The publication contains articles that discuss current issues; report new developments; showcase innovative teaching and assessment techniques; publicize conferences and other CMC services such as scholarships, grants, awards, and other professional opportunities as well as provides classroom activities for all grade levels from kindergarten to grade 12. CMC members have online access to current and archived issues of The ComMuniCator by logging in to their member accounts.

The ComMuniCator seeks activities and articles on lessons and issues of interest to mathematics educators in California. Go to the Call for Articles/Activities to find out more about submitting your manuscript to theComMuniCator. The ComMuniCator Editor requests members to send in their selfies from all over the world with their ComMuniCator. The ComMuniCator Editorial Panel invites teachers to send in their Students’ Solutions to the Student Problems found in each issue.

Special Editions of The ComMuniCator

The editorial staff of CMC also produce a two Special Editions each year. These issues consist entirely of “grab and go” classroom activities. The Special Editions are not offered as part of membership, but are sold separately at each of the CMC conferences and symposium and are available for purchase online.

Additional Resources

Besides the ComMuniCator, the CMC website features many resources of interest to mathematicians. An excel file of the ComMuniCator  INDEX from 1985 to 2020 is useful for finding articles and activities in previous ComMuniCatorsData Sets for Problems that are associated with certain ComMuniCator activities and articles are also available online.
