Engage in the Framework Process

Share your thoughts about the draft Mathematics Framework by providing public comment during the first review period from February 8 - April 8, 2021. Go to to review the draft Framework chapters and complete the public comment survey.

During the first review period, all comments and suggestions received by April 8, 2021, will be reviewed by the Instructional Quality Commission (IQC)/Mathematics Subject Matter Committee at its meeting on May 19–20, 2021. At this meeting the IQC is expected to recommend a revised draft for a second public review to take place in June and July 2021.

Tips for Completing the Survey

  • Your name and email are required to submit the survey. All other questions are optional.
  • You may answer as many or as few questions as you choose.
  • Comments are encouraged for the questions.
  • Comments that include page and/or line references and include specific suggestions for edits are most useful for improving the document.
  • Consider working on feedback in collaboration with colleagues. One person may submit the survey on behalf of the group.
  • Each question response is limited to 1,000 characters. For longer submissions, use one of the submission methods below.

State Board of Education (SBE)

The 11-member State Board of Education is California’s K-12 policy-making body for academic standards, curriculum, instructional materials, assessments, and accountability. Instructional Quality Commission (IQC)

The IQC is an 18-member advisory body to the California State Board of Education,
